Dee Deuville has been a member and a Director of the GBBA since 2005. Recently retired from a career in Media Sales, most notably with TC Media and the Burnside News. In the past year enjoyed a position as Regional Account Representative for the Chronicle Herald. Enjoys travelling, gardening and reading. Dee likes to stay involved in her community by volunteering with the GBBA and the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
Earl MacLeod, MNP LLPTreasurer
Earl MacLeod has been involved with GBBA since 2012 and has been on the board of directors since 2015. Earl is a Chartered Professional Accountant and is a Partner of MNP LLP working in the area of taxation. Earl provides tax and business advice to owner managed businesses to assist them in dealing with corporate and personal Canadian and U.S. tax matters. Earl lives in Dartmouth with his wife and enjoys spending time golfing, travelling, and running.
Jackie Norman, Safety ServicesPresident, CEO
Jackie was born in Scotland and moved to Canada in 1972. Jackie started working at Safety Services NS in the 80’s as an Administrative Assistant, since then she has worked her way up to President and CEO. She studied Business Administration at Mount Saint Vincent University as well as received her CAE (Canadian Association Executive) Designation. Jackie has been involved on various board of directors over the years including the National Chair of CSAE (Canadian Society of Association Executives); Atlantic Collaborative for Injury Prevention; and Safety Services Canada. In her free time, Jackie enjoys boating and volunteering on the Events Committee for Dartmouth Yacht Club; reading; organizing group exercise challenges for colleagues; traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Kari MacInnis Hyson is new to the Board and excited to lead the Membership Committee. She is a Market Specialist with REgroup, the environmental division of the Municipal Group of Companies. She has been in the industry for over 15 years and a member of the GBBA for almost a decade. Kari moved to Halifax from Mabou, Cape Breton to attend Saint Mary’s University, where she received her Bachelor of Commerce. Along with her husband, daughter & golden doodle, Kari enjoys spending time at their cottage in CB. golfing, travelling, and running.
Amy Gibson Saab, BoyneClarke LLPDirector
Amy Gibson Saab joined the board of directors in 2018. She has been a lawyer in Dartmouth with BoyneClarke LLP since 2010 and focuses on tax issues for businesses and their owners. Married with two young children, she spends her spare time with family and staying active in the community.
Glynis Mullen, Weldon McInnisDirector
Long time resident and an avid advocate for all things Dartmouth. Glynis was involved with the GBBA as Administrative Assistant from 2009 – 2016 and returns this year as a Director working with the Advocacy and Events Committees. Glynis currently holds the position of Office Manager for Weldon McInnis, one of the oldest law firms in Downtown Dartmouth.
Kelly Lohnes, Relish MediaPresident
Kelly joined the Board in 2018. She is a President of Relish Media. Kelly and her team create strategic advertising and marketing campaigns to meet the needs of her clients’ brand objectives. She has working in the digital landscape for a number of years and enjoys learning about new trends and technologies.
She has a love for new cultures and seeing new places so most of her free time is spent travelling.
Cathy Deagle-Gammon is the Executive Director of DASC and President of the Social Enterprise Network of Nova Scotia. She has a life long career in the non profit sector supporting persons with disability in social enterprise, employment and inclusion.
Keith MacKay, Sun Life FinancialDirector
Keith has been an advisor with Sun Life Financial for 12 years, providing advice on a myriad of financial planning topics to clients. Everything from various insurance products to protect against risk to helping clients accumulate savings as tax-efficiently as possible. He works with clients on a holistic level to help them achieve the financial goals they set for themselves while protecting against various risks along the way.
